The Constitution's Governmental Cage Match Works

Leave the cage alone!

The US Constitution brilliantly created a style of government that resembles, if nothing else in modern culture - the inimitable wrestling cage match. The recent kerfuffle over the Supreme Court has pundits coming out of the woodwork with suggestions ranging from a constitutional convention of states (there's a scary idea) to packing the court, a practice that could go on until there are 40 or 50 judges on the court and nothing would ever get done. The biggest complaint from my side of the political aisle is that allowing the packing of the court would make the court an arm of whatever party that packed the court more effectively.

This would be a very bad idea I believe. The Supreme Court is not, nor should not be an arm of the administration or of the congress. It serves as the arbiter between those two branches and the Constitution. While there is this idealism around how law and judicial justice should be free of contamination by religious tenets and beliefs, that's just not possible, especially since people who consider themselves non-religious bring their own ideology/religion to bear in how they view laws and justice. Marxism, socialism, atheism and other anti-Christian ideologies are as much religion as Christianity, Islam or Buddhism.

The Western legal tradition draws most of its view of what is legal and what should not be from the stone tablets Moses dragged down from Mt. Sinai (and promptly broke). It says something that despite Israel's apostasy and Moses' temper tantrum, God made him climb back up the mountain and this time to carve a copy of the commandments out of rock. Western law is built on the code inscribed on those tablets.

There is a place in Revelation full of symbolism which seems to say that His people would, near the end of time, flee to a wilderness place of safety from rising persecution. I think He was talking about the United States, which in its time became a refuge from religious persecution for all sorts of Protestants fleeing Catholic persecution and more than a few Catholics who were on the receiving end of persecution by both church and state.

One of the symbols for this refuge to which the "woman" (God's church invisible) flees is symbolized by another beast that was like a lamb but spoke like a dragon. Having confronted a bull buffalo once, I suspect that was what John saw. Don't mess with those guys. The buffalo would be an excellent symbol for a place of refuge. The American bison is pretty peaceful mostly, but threaten the herd or more foolishly, their calves, and they'll flip your car upside down and tramp on it. Later the lamblike beast

The point is that the Constitution was brilliantly designed to limit governmental power. It basically created a cage match arena that pits 3 coequal powers against each other if they disagree yet gives them the ability to cooperate when it makes overwhelming sense to do so. The Constitution surrounds the arena, limiting the fight to the inside of the arena and regulating what comes out of the arena to the rest of us.

As a conservative, I prefer to keep the power of the arena limited. Fight it out all y'all wish, but only let out of the arena what everybody is, if not happy with, at least able to accept with some grace. I admit I prefer my judicial system to lean to the right (Ecclesiastes 10:2), but that there should be some debate, I find healthy. The Supreme Court has made some bad decisions in the past, Dred Scott, Buck v. Bell, Plessy v Ferguson, Roe v. Wade (I know some will disagree violently with me on that last one, but I rather think that a decision that led to the death of more than 52 million unborn infants is one of the more horrible ones since Herod, Pharoah, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot and others who took on themselves power to murder millions by government decree.

For closing in on 2 1/2 centuries, the system has worked to stem the tide of evil caused by greed, self-centeredness, lust for power and the odd burst of mass insanity. It's no surprise then that people with an agenda, facing a system that blocks them at most every turn would want to alter the Constitution or simply ignore it and do what they want. So far the venerable document has managed to hold on, balancing power to kind of hold at bay the principal articulate by Frank Herbert. "It's not that power corrupts, but that power attracts the corruptible."

So long as we can make the urge to tyrannical power too difficult to accomplish within the arena, we'll be okay. But beware of those who would tear down the cage that holds them in. They are not your friends. They are enemies of America as it is.

Big Tech Colluded with Democrats to Fix the 2016 Election

This is earth-shaking testimony from someone from their own side. Even though Dr. Epstein is a big time liberal, this really shakes him up. In this exchange with Ted Cruz (R) Texas, The former editor of Psychology Today claims that we are looking at a potential 15 million votes shifted to Democrats in the upcoming 2020 election. As it is, if they use the techniques they have already shown a willingness to use, Tech giants could easily have had the effect of shifting between 2.6 to 10.4 million votes to Democrats in 2018. We could easily have a Democrat Congress as a direct result of Google, Facebook and other tech giants colluding to influence voters to vote Democrats.

Facebook and Youtube and Google directly steer users toward ideas they support and actively suppress ideas they do not. Worse yet they are protected because they claim to be a neutral platform rather than a publisher. If the Congress were to remove that protection from tech companies, they would no longer be protected from libel suits and for deceptive practices.

We are, like families of abusive fathers, protecting them from their own actions while they merrily abuse us without consequences.

If we allow this to continue, we will lose our freedom.  Period!  Google by manipulating search results and other means that cannot be detected and which no one is aware of and which are exclusively in their hands are colluding with the Democrat party in a way that makes the worst possible version of the Russian collusion hoax look pathetic by comparison.

This was done by means that cost these guys almost nothing. In 2020 15 million votes could be shifted without a paper trail or anyone's knowledge. If Mark Zuckerberg and the folks at Google and other tech giants support the same candidate, they can, without accountability, through deceptive manipulative search methods, search suggestions, answer bots, selective go vote notices and other deceptive subliminal methods throw 15 million or more votes to the Democrats.

We are at war with the left. God help us I can see where this is going and it's not a good place. Just watch the debates. These would-be tech gods are planning to seize control and even this very progressive psychologist that testifies in this video is appalled by the implications.

IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THIS TESTIMONY BEFORE CONGRESS, DO IT NOW. YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Trumpocalypse Now!

Trump is expanding drilling areas into ANWR and extending offshore drilling permits He's already approved the Keystone Pipeline project. This move will increase domestic oil supplies and make us less dependent on foreign oil leaving more for the rest of the world. I think that's a good thing. My progressive buddies think there will be massive disasters and the world will likely end with global warming, seas rising and only Mt. Everest sticking up out of the ocean.

Apparently, any softening of restrictions on drilling will cause the evil oil companies to ravage and pillage the environment, according to the environmentalist talking points that are flying back and forth across the Internet like cruise missiles. Oil guys, they say, are evil. Well, I used to run with oil guys. The so-called Big Oil companies are increasingly redefining themselves as "energy" companies. That includes alternative energy sources. What that means is they are looking for a way to transition to other forms of energy so that when oil supplies run low, there will be more energy to sell because that's what keeps them in business - having energy to sell. If they don't adapt to changing conditions they die as companies. So these guys are not averse to clean energy technologies. They just need to be profitable.

One of my progressive buddies mentioned oil spills as one of those horrors that will surely happen. Ironically, in a recent major spill, it wasn't evil oil companies responsible. In this case, the bearings cracked on a windmill generator and poured lots of oil out onto the ground. Given the number of train derailments that happen in the US, pipelines are actually safer. There was a recent pipeline spill near Keystone. It was a relatively minor spill and was quickly cleaned up without permanent damage. It wasn't the Keystone pipeline itself, which is part of one of the talking points. Keystone, though, hasn't been built yet.

Deepwater Horizon, which was another environmental disaster that happened, was a British Petroleum project, not an American one.  Trump is expanding drilling for American companies who have a pretty good track record. The Deepwater Horizon cleanup could have been done much more quickly before damage to Gulf beaches would have been serious. Instead, American unions demanded that only companies staffed by American union workers be allowed to clean up the spill. There was a Dutch ship close by that was designed to clean up spills and could have jumped on the spill almost immediately. Instead, the administration knuckled under and refused the Dutch help. The spill removal did not begin immediately as authorities waited the extra time needed to get American cleanup resources on the job. As a result, the damage wound up being much greater.

Another talking point is that oil companies hate alternative energies and that Trump is willing to aid them by allowing them to ravage the environment. But, the mean old oil companies don't care if you put a solar panel on your roof. That's the electric companies. Interesting note, my Dad worked for Brown & Root building the Alaska Pipeline. A bunch of electrical engineers built windchargers for their homes in Washington State. They hooked them into the power lines and discovered that, when the chargers were making more power than they used, it ran the meter backward. The electric company ordered the chargers removed claiming damage to the electrical system. The electric company sued when they balked. The non-union electrical engineers counter-sued and the judge ruled in their favor and forced the electric company to not only allow the wind chargers, but also to pay the engineers for "generating electricity". These were guys building that evil oil pipeline in Alaska. Hardly the evil environmental destroyers progressives portray them. These were non-union guys working with a contractor for the oil companies. Brown & Root is part of Halliburton if you can believe that. Hardly the sort of evil corporation to be part of this quite successful green energy initiative.

The trouble is that almost nobody wants to destroy the environment, not even corporations. Corporations don't want the bad publicity. Yes, some jerks will sacrifice the environment for profit, but just because a company makes money doesn't make it inevitably evil. Usually the evil comes when companies and politicians get in bed together. That's a big Democrat deal - increase regulation to protect the markets of your supporters. It's why the super rich hardly ever get hurt by major tax increases. The Dems always build in huge loopholes for their supporters. Eighteen out of the top 20 richest Americans pour money into Democrat candidates - guess why?).

Trump is only allowing drilling, not "removing all environmental restrictions" - another anti-drilling talking point. Trump just doesn't have the power or the interest in wiping out the environmental gains and protections we've gained over the years - gains Republicans supported.

It isn't that black and white my progressive friends. You can't extend progressive talking points to cover permission to explore for oil into areas liberals have staked out as places where the world will end if anyone drills for oil. The Progressive "Trump is super evil/Republicans are all bad" narrative is far too black and white. Let's stick to what's actually happening.

Trump is extending permissions to drill in areas sacred to environmentalists. They've staked their arguments on protecting these areas. If oil companies drill there and no massive environmental disaster ensues, it kind of kills the argument that the only way to save the world is through socialist style central planning.

Even though it's never worked before, progressives still believed that a strong central government can make our lives better and that THIS time, their leaders will be good and selfless people and not tyrannical despots. Yeah, like that'll work. It always goes wrong whenever you give that much power to government. Somebody always tries to grab it for himself.

This is not the cliche' about power inevitably corrupting people. I don't believe it does. What I am saying is that power corrupts. That's too easy. Power, in fact, attracts the corruptible. It's virtually the only thing that obeys the "Field of Dreams" principle - you know that Kevin Costner line from the movie, "If you build it they will come."  Tens of thousands of projects go belly up following that principle. Only socialism obeys that principle in its own twisted way. Instead, socialism follows this principle.

If you build it (power) they (the corruptible) will come! Sadly, there are socialism sycophants out there who are such true believers that they will pass along any bit of propaganda that supports the ideology and won't look too closely at whether or not it is true. The radical right does the same thing. Also the far left and radical right both support the legalization of pot. I think there's a connection there. It may be the only way these people can relax!

Progressive Fantasy - All War Banned

All equal should not be all the same - progressives don't get that.

Got some fake news about ten years ago from one of my Paulista buddies out on the liberal conservative fringe out on the edge of reason.  It was titled "Newsflash:  All War Banned".  It includes this link to a fake news story in which Desmond Tutu becomes UN General Secretary and all the peace-loving countries of the world (like Iran, Russia, Egypt, Libya, Venezuela, Chad, The Sudan, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Chechnya, China and Serbia) vote to " declare America and Israel pariah states."  It goes on with this fantasy about accusing Israel and the US of state-sponsored terrorism and prosecuting Obama, Bush, Cheney (the only non-head of state they mention by name for some reason), Clinton and Netanyahu.  That this drivel comes from a Ron Paul fan is not surprising. The radical right has backed so far from the center that they've pretty much backed round the world and bumped butts with the fringe left and they all find themselves humming Kumbaya without knowing exactly why.

If they could dig up Ronald Reagan, I'm sure they would have included him on the extermination list as well.  Now Donald Trump would be their favorite bug bear and, sure enough, they are frantic to take him out too, even to the point of encouraging lunatics to try and assassinate the former president. Of course, this radical approach to creating what would amount to the great socialist utopia, would likely leave the US without leadership since all of the people running things would have to be jailed as unreliable - infected with free market capitalism, imperialism and the heretical idea that government draws its power from the people than the true socialist belief that people only draw their freedoms, rights and lives from the all-powerful state. I'm sure, however, the revolution could find someone like, oh, I don't know, Ron Paul? (Except he's closing in on 90 and they just had the embarrassment of mumbling Joe Biden so Ron is no longer a viable dear leader). The progressives would be thrilled to have a turncoat Republican to kind of cleanse their palates after losing Donald Trump's contributions to the DNC. Whoever they might shoehorn into the White House, they fondly believe could save America from it's imperialist ways by teaching us pure Marxism. The whole thing is a progressive socialist's wet dream and a nightmare for freedom loving people everywhere.

It amazes me that anyone with half a brain could support this horror of an "idea whose time has ostensibly come".
This utterly simplistic idea is based on assumptions built upon utterly naive socialist fairy tales designed to deceive the immensely gullible to trade their birthright for an illusion.

This anti-American, anti-Israeli mess of an idea is little more than an exercise in Progressive Socialist masturbation. What amazes me is that the Ron Paul libertarians once loved this idea. It may have something to do with their plans for abolishing the world bank, destroying evil corporations and ending the war on drugs. Free pot for all seems to be an idea my Paulista buddies can always get behind, which could explain some things.

If "the world" really tried to do this and, God forbid, succeeded, the vast majority of the human race would be reduced to the status of pod people within a generation (except of course for the "Dear Leader" and his cohorts. This whole Utopian fantasy is based on the repeatedly discredited idea that if we just had the right smart person in charge (in this fantasy it was Desmond Tutu of all people) and we gave him ultimate power, we could create a world government "with teeth" with the power to enforce goodness, prosperity and peace everywhere. That phrase "with teeth" keeps cropping up a lot as it is wont to in socialist planning. Pope Benedict in a Christmas encyclical, used it several years ago when he too called for a world government "with teeth" that could force powerful nations like the US to do its bidding. Pope Francis loves the idea and with his Jesuit background, he knows ways of encouraging the masses to behave. Like so many others these days, even this latest Pope has been caught up with the idea that we could somehow create a benign powerful force in the world that could make us all behave ourselves.

Communism promised a prosperous people's state before murdering
tens of millions of "the people"  - particularly those who found
the Communist state to be less than perfect and said so out loud.
It is a sad little pipe dream that crops up generation after generation once a few years have gone by and the horrors of the last round of socialist bloodshed, murder and genocide has been forgotten and the last "perfect leader", reduced in memory to little more than a nursery room bug-a-boo. How quickly they forget what happens when you set up a man as God. Even the mighty Albert Einstein, who escaped the gas ovens of Auschwitz by but a hair's breadth, himself, fell prey to wondering why we couldn't get a bunch of smart people together and figure out how to make everyone happy, safe, well-fed and productive. The problem is that everyone who embraces the progressive socialist fantasy that some brilliant elite human leader could make the world good for the rest of us is falling for an old lie - one that dates back to a garden and a serpent and a gullible woman.

"You shall be like gods."

That lie has led to almost endless suffering throughout history as one man after another attempts to achieve Earthly godhood. The simple truth, however, is that Man cannot perfect himself, the World Economic Forum's Great Reset notwithstanding. It's sad that we've never learned that from all the failed attempts at a Man-as-God Utopia that so-called civilized man has made over the past 7000 some-odd years. It is interesting that whenever you see a picture of someone's utopia, there's always a high wall around it. It's unclear whether the wall is to keep people out or to keep them in. Either way, I don't like it!

We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic
system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its
unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being
according to wealth and property instead of responsibility
and performance, and we are all determined to destroy
this system under all conditions - Adolph Hitler
They always mean well, the progressives, socialists, utopians and advocates of the new religion - scientism. Every government ever established had the intent of making the world a better place for the people of whatever nation-group, tribe or city-state they created. The God-kings always promised that the lives of the people would be perfected. And the same thing always happens. Creating a government creates power.  Power attracts corrupt men who seize that power and in short order start plundering the citizens, enslaving and abusing them once "the people" realize that the whole thing isn't working like they said it would. To maintain his power, the God-king must then silence any voice that dissents and control the flow of information lest "the people" discover that their human god is a false god and his ideas don't work.

The world's oldest profession isn't what you think. Seizing power and murdering people to maintain it is the real world's oldest profession. The Devil got the ball rolling a long time ago  with Cain and the whole nasty mess keeps rolling on through history, gathering more weight the longer it keeps rolling. Every generation that uplifts a God-king, be it Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Desmund Tutu, Joe Biden or Kamala Harris as the various fantasy scenarios propose, in the end creates a slightly worse monster.  One day we will create a monster who will roll over us completely and in so doing, destroy the Earth. We now have the nuclear weapons to do just that.

Remember, this. The Second Coming is not a pat on the back to mankind for writing laws that ban war and legislate universal peace, prosperity and health care.   The Jewish leadership expected that the first time Jesus came and they were wrong. Christ's coming this second time is also not a conquest. It's a rescue mission designed to pluck the remaining loyal children of God from the Earth before all that's left are the ashes and wreckage that man has made of the Earth in the process of trying to prove on behalf of Lucifer, that he was right all along; that mankind can't be trusted with free will and that we need the firm hand of the former director of the angel choir. Turns out he merely thought that he should be the god of this planet without any help from He who made the Earth in the first place.
